First Chapter Crunched – blog

Instead of line – by- line editing (a really bad idea), I’m following the advice of author Holly Lisle. She has a specific format that I’ll use to revise the novel chapter- by -chapter. On the first pass, you note everything wrong or right: plot, characters, world building, the snore factor…etc. I’ve crunched the first chapter into the revision mill.

Then, starting over at chapter one you rewrite, using your notes. Last thing is grammar, punctuation, and lyrical prose.

Thanks for the encouragement, Facebook buddies.

Oh yes. I’ve created extraordinary art using the Cintiq tablet. Geo, you’ll recognize this character in her 21st century re-incarnation.
